The Story
Elemental is a Pixar animated film set in a world where fire, water, earth, and air people live together. The story follows Ember, a fiery young woman, and Wade, a go-with-the-flow guy, who discover something elemental: how much they actually have in common.
Ember is a fire elemental who runs her family store. Wade is an air elemental who works as a city building inspector. He is laid-back and easygoing, and he always has a smile on his face.
As Ember and Wade spend more time together, they start to develop feelings for each other. However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that they come from different worlds. Ember’s family is very traditional, and they don’t approve of her dating a water elemental. Wade’s family is more open-minded, but they are worried about how Ember’s fiery temper will affect Wade.
Despite the challenges, Ember and Wade continue to date. They learn to accept each other for who they are, and they find ways to bridge the gap between their two worlds. In the end, they realize that love is more important than anything else.
Elemental is a heartwarming film about love, acceptance, and understanding. It is sure to appeal to audiences of all ages.
Initial Thoughts
Pixar made one hellova movie. There’s a princess (every girl is her daddy’s princess) and a prince without any titles needed, and they’re out to save their world. The animation is stunning, with natural-looking movement and way too much detail to take in one screening. Every time I watch this (four times so far), I notice new signs, characters, and buildings. Elemental is a feast for the eyes. JC
