Back when I started this project, I wanted to help bring better movies to Gainesville, Florida. And it worked! Gainesville has been booking some amazing movies the past few years, like a special second-tier pre-release showing of Bottoms, the very limited release of Robot Dreams, and most recently, a special showing of CatVideoFest 2024.

It’s been fun talking to other movie fans, and seeing how a few emails and some legwork can get better movies booked in an area. But, I need to move on to another part of my life, and I can’t stay here in Gainesville. I hope that the Regal theaters here in town continue booking interesting movies for the town’s many movie fans.

So what’s next? In 2025, For Films Sake is going to focus more on the beauty aspect of movies, like hair, nails, eyebrows and costumes. 🙂 We’ll be going to film festivals big and small, in the US and around the world. While on the road, we’ll also be stopping at theaters of all kinds, from drive-ins to rooftop cinemas. It’s going to be fun, and we’re doing it for film’s sake.
