Hey, Florida Filmies! Have you heard about the annual Orlando International Film Festival that takes places in the Orlando area every summer?

The 2023 festival will be taking place July 13-16.

Overview

The Orlando International Film Festival (OIFF) is hosted by the University of Central Florida (UCF) Nicholson School of Communication, and it fulfills the nonprofit organization’s goals of improving the quality of life of emerging and disadvantaged filmmakers and artists through a cultural exchange of films, music, dance, and art.

The festival screens feature-length and short films created by filmmakers from around the world. Beyond films, programming includes panel discussions and Q&A sessions.

The OIFF also works with Lions Club International to host a summer camp for children to learn about film and media. Art created by the children is often displayed at the event in a gallery setting.
