On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, Neon hosted an early access sneak peek screening of its new comedy, Babes, that was livestreamed to select theaters across the US.

The film, directed by Pamela Adlon and co-written by Ilana Glazer and Josh Rabinowitz, stars Glazer and Michelle Buteau as lifelong best friends, Eden and Dawn. The plot centers on Eden’s journey navigating an unexpected pregnancy after a one-night stand, leaning heavily on her already-a-mother friend, Dawn, to guide her through the complexities of gestation and early motherhood. The film is a raunchy and heartfelt exploration of female friendship and the messy realities of becoming a parent.

The event featured a pre-screening Q&A session with Adlon, Glazer, and Buteau, moderated by Julia Louis-Dreyfuss. Their conversation offered insights into the production and creative vision, and the ladies shared anecdotes from their own pregnancy experiences.

Babes premiered at SXSW 2024 and had a theatrical release on May 17, 2024, followed by a digital release on July 2, 2024.
