The Story
There’s no sugar-coated childhood tale in this Wonka tale, just an unsettling story of an eccentric boy candy maker. He’s too nice and trusting for the city, and he’s quickly hoodwinked by innkeepers who ensnare him with a mile-long contract. When he tries to sell his special confections, the other chocolate sellers stop him with help of the police chief, who is easily bribed with chocolate! Wonka’s origin tale is full of twists and turns, and songs and dances.
