2023 National Cinema Day is August 27 – What’s Playing at Regal Cinemas in Florida and Georgia

National Cinema Day is the happiest day of the year for movie fans in the US. It’s like Christmas in . . . August! We didn’t make it up — National Cinema Day is a real thing. This year, theaters across the country will be selling tickets to top 2023 movies and classics for just $4 each. 

Most theaters are playing the year’s biggest and current Hollywood hits: Barbie, Oppenheimer, The Little Mermaid, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Blue Beetle, Strays, Back on the Strip, Meg 2, Indiana Jones, Super Mario Bros., Haunted Mansion, Retribution, Transformers, The Hill, and Mission Impossible. They’re also playing some fun movies like a Little Mermaid singalong (!!), Gran Turismo, and Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary in 3D. But some are playing more interesting movies, too!

For Film’s Sake currently focuses on Regal Cinemas the Southeast movie scene, so we’ve highlighted some of the great movies playing in Regal theaters around Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. These theaters are our favorites because they regularly play “extra” movies — indie, foreign, documentary, and other special films. And they haven’t disappointed us for this special day!
